Presented as literature

All miraculous narratives on this site are presented as records within religious literature — accounts of faith, not facts established by modern scientific or historical methods, and no worldly or rebirth outcome is promised.

Lotus Sutra Stories is an independent, non-commercial, freely accessible Buddhist literature project presenting historical accounts of upholding and reciting the Lotus Sutra, particularly from the Fahua jing xianying lu and Fahua jing chiyan ji. We distinguish primary texts, modern Traditional Chinese explanations, English translations, and editorial reflections. Miraculous events are presented as accounts recorded in religious literature, not as independently established scientific or historical facts or guarantees of particular worldly or rebirth outcomes. This project is not officially affiliated with or endorsed by the religious organizations, archives, databases or institutions referenced. Third-party text transcriptions, translations and artwork remain subject to their applicable licences and attribution requirements.
